MARCO Workshop
A New Approach to Soil Information Systems for Natural Resources Management in Asian Countries
(Oct.14-15, 2008 in Tsukuba)

About MARCO

MARCO Workshop (Japanese)

Date: Oct 14-15, 2008

Venue: Tsukuba International Congress Center, Japan (http://www.epochal.or.jp/eng/index.html)

Soil Information System (SIS) provides soil information related to crop productivity, assessment and conservation of environmental quality, wildlife habitats, and global warming and energy concerns. The objectives of this workshop are to review the current status of SIS or available soil data, to exchange information on SIS, to share technological know-how establishing a SIS, and to discuss the possibility of establishing of a regional SIS for sustainable crop production in Asia, USA and Europe.

We will prepare a room for poster presentation. For the poster presentation, please register as seen below, and refer to Poster and abstract submission.

Organized by National Institute for Agro-Environmental Science (NIAES) and Food & Fertilizer Technology Center (FFTC)

Supporter (Tentative): Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Japanese Society of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition, Japanese Society of Pedology, Japanese Council of Soil Survey

Registration : Please fill in the registration form (MS-Word file) and send to the workshop secretariat ( soilinfo@niaes.affrc.go.jp ) by Email.
