- Dr. Kazuo Kyuma received his Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology and joined the Mitsubishi Electric Corporation where he demonstrated excellent management skills and leadership in carrying out reforms as director of centers on advanced technology R&D and executive vice-president.
- As executive member of the Council for Science, Technology and Innovation of the Cabinet Office, he strongly promotes the development of advanced technology in agriculture in cooperation with industries via the Cross-ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP) on "Technologies for creating next-generation agriculture, forestry and fisheries".
