Mini-symposium for the International Fascination of Plants Day 2018

Overview

The "International Plants Day" is observed every year on May 18th for people around the world to think about the significance of plants. The Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences, University of Tsukuba in cooperation with the Central Region Agricultural Research Center, NARO (CARC) is organizing a mini-symposium for the "International Fascination of Plants Day 2018". In this mini-symposium, the keynote speaker is Professor Peter Schausberger of the University of Vienna, a world-renowned scientist who has done research in behavioral ecological study of Phytoseiid mites which plays a significant role in plant protection. Prof. Schausberger along with three researchers from Tsukuba Science City will introduce a wide range of research focusing on living organisms supported by plants or supporting plants.
