Seminar to be held at FINE CHEMICALS JAPAN 2017, Tokyo

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) and the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (NARO) will hold a joint seminar at Fine Chemicals Japan 2017 on 21 April, 2017 on creating new industries through genetically modified (GM) silkworms. GM silkworms are used as an insect factory for the production of many useful proteins in medicine. Moreover, GM silk has remarkable mechanical or functional properties and can be used in the formation of a variety of biomaterials such as gels, sponges and films. The seminar will be conducted by Mr. Shinichi Mizumoto of MAFF and Dr. Tsunenori Kameda of Institute of Agrobiological Sciences,NARO. Seminar details are furnished below.
