12. Transposon mutagenesis as a tool to study virulence factors of Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae

Japanese

We have analyzed virulence factors of E. rhusiopathiae using transposon mutagenesis with Tn916. The results obtained have demonstrated that E. rhusiopathiae may have a capsule and virulence of the organism is a associated, in part, with resistance to phagocytosis by polymorphonuclear leukocytes.
