15. Decline in chemiluminescence activity of neutrophils in diarrheal newborn calves

Japanese

This experiment was conducted to ascertain the levels of chemiluminescence (CL) activities of neutrophils and leukocytes in healthy and diarrheal newborn calves. Venous bloodsamples were taken immediately after and 3, 7, 14 and 28 days after birth. CL activities of neutrophils and leukocytes declined transiently 3 days after birth in healthy calves. On the other hand, the activities were much lower throughout the sampling days in calves with diarrhea at 6 days of age than those in healthy calves.
