21. An epidemiological analysis of tick infestation on public grazing farms of dairy heifers

Japanese

A questionnaire-based survey was conducted on 85 grazing farms of heifers in Japan. The conditions of the environment and management at the targeted farms had wide diversity, and disease frequencies fluctuated with their geographical locations. The grazing farms with heavier tick infestation had higher losses due to Theileria infections. (Applied Epidemiology Section, Department of Epidemiology TEL +81-298-38-7770)
