Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is a very important cereal crop for us, and its improvement is necessary to meet the demands for increased production and higher qualities in an environmentally sustainable manner. To facilitate the wheat production, the genetic improvement holds the key, and for that we need the highly accurate genome sequence. The Komugi Genome Sequence Program is a genome analysis program of wheat in Japan funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. We are challenging the genome sequencing of wheat chromosome 6B in collaboration with the members of the International Wheat Genome Sequencing Consortium. This web site provides an overview of our activities for the wheat genome analysis including published manuscripts, presentations in conferences/meetings, and access to our data including the genome sequences, transcriptomes, annotation data.
