Overview
The theme of this Science cafe is "New breeding technology and Genome editing". In genome editing, it is possible to efficiently produce various breeding materials by mutating target genes, and it is expected to contribute greatly to breed improvement of crops. In this science cafe, basics of genome editing technology and kinds of crops developed using that technology will be introduced. Also, difference between genetic modification and conventional breed improvement will be explained and it is planned to discuss about the safety and regulation of crops made by genome editing. Please feel free to join us.
※'Science Cafe' facilitates open communication with the general public in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
