Pyrenophora chaetomioides Speg. [=Drechslera avenacea (Curtis ex Cooke) Shoem.]
Classification: Ascomycota, Locuoascomycetes, Dothideales, Pleosporaceae

 Distributed northern form Kyushu, the southern Distr. Causes leaf blight in oat. Frequently isolated from other grasses, i.e. wild oat, of Avena. Disperses by scattering conidia. Teleomorph produced on rotten stem and seeds.

Morphology:
 Teleomorph: Pseudothcia with setae. In cylindrical asci, producing ascospores of hyaline to pale yellow brown, ellipsoid to braodly cylindrical, 35-75 x 17-30 um in size with a vertical and 3-6 transverse septa.
 Anamorph: On brown to dark brown conidiophores, producing conidia of pale broen to olive brown, cylindrical with rounded ends, 50-130 x 17-30 um in size, 1-9 pseudosepta.
