Annual Evaporation in Japan: G-7 Environment and Natural Resources Management Project

Evaporation is an index which is related to crop/plant production. In this study, evaporation (E) is calculated by the following equation.

E=R{1-exp(-RDI)}

R: total precipitation

RDI: Radiative Dryness Index proposed by Budyko (1980)

RDI=Rn/(L*R)

Rn: Total Net Radiation, L: Latent heat of evaporation (580 cal/gH₂O)
