Visit us

The institute (main campus) is open to individuals or groups who would like to visit, get an overview of our research activities and facilities, interact with our researchers, and have hands-on experience of some techniques used in biotechnology.

Reservations can be arranged with the NIAS Public Relations Office by telephone (029-838-8469 or 8471), FAX (029-838-8465), or send e-mail to nias_raihou@nias.affrc.go.jp.

Visiting time is from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on weekdays.
For group visit, the number is limited to 30 persons.

The following activities can be arranged during the visit:

• Overview of NIAS Gene Bank facilities
• Overview (lecture, visit of laboratories) of genomics research
• Overview of GMO research
• Visit to exhibition hall of silkworm and other insects
• On-hand training on some experimental protocols such as DNA extraction
