1. Goals
(1) To build a database to promote the function analyses of rice and develop
the relating software.
(2) To develop a rice simulator including novel information technology-based
methods and enhance the application of rice genome research in plant breeding,
etc.
2. Research plan
1) Preparation of an integrated rice database
To prepare an integrated database designed to correlate data including
genome sequences, function analyses, proteome, and breeding data, etc.
2) Development of rice simulator
To develop dedicated software by combining life science and information
technology and to build a virtual experimental system designed to estimate
the functions of crop genes and make breeding experiments on a computational
platform.
