NARO has signed an agreement to extend the Project Cooperation Agreement for the placement of a NARO liaison scientist at Wageningen University and Research Center (WUR) in Wageningen, Netherlands on June 12, 2019 with the aim to further strengthen the research cooperation. On this occasion NARO Vice President, Dr. Atsuro Matsuda, and WUR President, Dr. Louise Fresco have confirmed mutually that they are major partners. The WUR is located in the heart of the Netherlands Food Valley where international food companies and research institutes are engaged in world leading-edge research in cooperation with the industry, academia and the government. Since promoting research cooperation with WUR is extremely useful for achieving NARO's mission, the joint research collaboration started in May 2015. The Project Cooperation Agreement based on MOU has taken effect since April 2018 and Dr. Kazuhisa Goto, Administrator for Research Management of NDSC, which is NARO's thinktank, has been working as a liaison scientist at WUR.
