 Distributed mainly north from Tohoku, the northern Distr. Causes northern anthracnose in clovers. Disperses by scattering conidia produced on plant surfaces. On artificial media, the fungus at first grows in conidial budding forming sticky and yellowish white colonies and later grows in hyphal elongating.

 Anamorph: Conidiophores hyaline and shortly clavate producing 3-5 conidia terminally. Conidia falcate to oblong, hyaline, single-celled, smooth, 8-24 x 2.5-4.5 um in size.
