農村地域における水質保全に関する研究

• 人工湿地や植生を利用した浄化法による、生活系排水中の栄養塩類、及び水生生物への生態毒性が問題となっている亜鉛等重金属の浄化に関する研究
• 人工湿地におけるANAMMOX活性（アンモニウムイオンと亜硝酸イオンから窒素ガスを生じる微生物反応）の分布と環境要因の解明
• 亜鉛など水域生態系への影響が危惧されている重金属の農業・農村域（畜産業や家畜糞堆肥施用圃場）から水系への負荷に関する研究

農業生産における重金属等のリスク管理に関する研究

• 現地で使える玄米等農産物中のカドミウムやヒ素濃度の簡易測定法の検討
