Monsoon Asia Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Emission Studies

Background and Objectives:

An International Workshop on Monsoon Asia Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Emissions was held in March, 2006, at Tsukuba to bridge the gaps in knowledge for GHG emissions from agricultural sources in Monsoon Asia. In this previous workshop, experts from Monsoon Asian and other countries exchanged recent understanding of the issues related to agricultural greenhouse gas emissions in monsoon Asian countries, and discussed future research needs and possible forms of cooperation.

The planning workshop, as a follow-up of the previous one, will address research activities and there implementation strategies needed in the next 3-4 years and aims to make an outline of the research plan for the Monsoon Asia Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Emission Studies (MAGES).
