| This species was considered as B type of Bemissia tabaci, and its population on poinsettia was separated from B. tabaci in 1990. | |

| At first, this insect was restricted on poinsettia in houses. However, it started to infect vegetables and other flowers since 1995. At present, this pest has spread to all over Taiwan, with higher population in central and southern Taiwan. | |
