Expansion of distribution area |
Dispersal areas of TYLCV are Kyushu, Tokai and Kanto in Japan. Infected
area of the disease is spreading now. |

Economic damage |
After invasion of TYLCV, tomato production has become extremely
unstable in the infected areas. The vector of the disease is silverleaf
whitefly. It needs chemical and physical control measures for avoiding
infection. Thus, the cost of the control is increasing. |

The control measures are mainly chemical and physical. Bilogical
control for reducing vector population is under studying. |
